Description
ICD-10 NURSE SPECIALIST (RN) — OMAHA, NE
Full-Time | On-Site | Posted by SouthBridge Human Capital
Are you an experienced RN who thrives on clinical accuracy, teaching others, and making a broad impact — but wants a stable, office-based role instead of the demands of floor nursing?
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
SouthBridge Human Capital has been engaged by a well-established, multi-community senior living organization in the Omaha area to identify an exceptional Registered Nurse for a newly created ICD-10 Nurse Specialist role.
This organization has built a strong regional reputation over decades by placing the dignity, respect, and wellbeing of every resident at the center of everything they do. Their culture reflects a genuine belief that quality care starts with quality people — and they invest accordingly in the teams that serve their communities.
This high-visibility, system-wide role is an opportunity to apply your clinical expertise at an organizational level — with a professional office environment, predictable hours, and minimal travel.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Serve as the ICD-10 subject matter expert across the entire organization
Review and audit skilled and non-skilled admissions, diagnosis sheets, physician orders, and therapy documentation
Ensure diagnoses are accurate, clinically supported, and properly sequenced
Identify patterns contributing to billing errors, RTPs, or claim denials — and help eliminate them
Deliver targeted education, coaching, and support to clinical and interdisciplinary teams
Collaborate closely with Billing and Financial Services to protect appropriate reimbursement
Support documentation improvements and stay current with annual ICD-10 updates
Drive meaningful process enhancements in a collaborative, respectful culture
Work full-time at the organization's Omaha corporate office with up to 10% travel to communities
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Nebraska or eligible)
Strong working knowledge of ICD-10 diagnosis coding
Solid understanding of skilled nursing, senior living operations, and Medicare reimbursement processes
Experience with MDS coordination or the RAI process strongly preferred
Sharp attention to detail when reviewing clinical documentation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a natural ability to educate and support others
A collaborative mindset and genuine passion for continuous improvement
WHY THIS ROLE STANDS OUT
Move beyond traditional bedside or unit-level work into a position of real, system-wide influence
Enjoy a stable, professional office setting with predictable hours and minimal travel
Make a visible impact on resident care quality and organizational integrity across multiple communities
Join a culture that has spent decades demonstrating — not just saying — that people come first
Work alongside collaborative, mission-aligned colleagues who take their work seriously and support each other
Receive compensation and benefits that are competitive and commensurate with your experience
If you're an RN who loves the intellectual and educational side of post-acute care and wants your expertise to elevate an entire organization — while still going home at a reasonable hour — this could be the refreshing next step you've been looking for.
