Job Summary:
Long Term Care Registered Nurse (RN) position in Seward, Alaska. This role involves providing specialized nursing care in a long-term care facility, with a focus on adult and geriatric patient populations. The position offers flexible scheduling options, including rotating shifts, to meet facility needs and accommodate the travelers preferences.
Job Details:

- Schedule: Rotating shifts; 12 hours shift time, minimum of 48 hours per week
- Start Date: 08/25/2026
- Certifications Required: BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Consolidated Qualifications: Valid Alaska nursing license, 1 year of nursing experience, BLS certification, and LTC experience preferred
- Experience Requirements: Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience, including LTC experience; 1+ years preferred
- Clinical Skills: Oxygen administration, peripheral line care, isolation precautions/PPE, wound care, IV hydration, wound care, and specific procedures such as accuchecks, glucose sensors, G-tube feedings, and respiratory treatments
- Additional Requirements: Must obtain Alaska Food Worker Certification during orientation; candidates must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's); RTO requests are limited to 2 weeks for a 26-week contract or 1 week for a 13-week contract.
- Facility Details: Long Term Care facility with approximately 40 beds, caring for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses such as dementia, Alzheimers, TB, physical and cognitive impairments.
- Patient Ratios: 20 patients per shift for days and nights
- Float within scope: Yes
- Transportation: Vehicle provided by the facility, with specific usage policies; candidate must provide valid drivers license and proof of insurance.
- Other: Candidates must meet all licensing, vaccination, and reference requirements prior to start.
- Additional Notes: No local candidates accepted; candidates must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
